In this video, shot the day after St. Patty’s day, Doug steps out into thin air while cutting up the trunk of the pine tree he just dropped. Pretty scary falling off a retaining wall while running Stihl’s biggest chainsaw. Lucky I was able to drop the saw on top and didn’t take it with me over the edge.

This pine had grown to be less than six inches from the home. Each piece had to be handled by hand to be dropped clear of the home and fence below..

In 1987 Lara and I were visiting her Aunt and Uncle in Ohio and her kite got caught in a tree. I took the opportunity to ham it up for Lara’s benefit. Because I didn’t bring my climbing gear I free climbed the Maple tree to rescue Lara’s kite. I’d never attempt that now, but in those early days I was young and foolish.

This is the homeowner’s video of the felling of a huge Oak tree very near her home. It is a difficult drop because there is very little space in which to lay it down without doing damage to her home or the other trees on her property.

This is a simple drop of a large Oak on a steep wooded valley. I demonstrate “plunge cutting” which allows greater control of the felling of the tree.

Here I’m using a 30 ton crane to remove a snow storm damaged Hemlock tree.

This video is of a large dead Poplar tree that was the last of 10 Poplars we dropped for this customer. The first nine were easy, but this one was the largest and most difficult because it was leaning right over the road and power lines.

This is a trim of a very large Sycamore tree to remove limbs over the home. I have positioned a cameraman in the tree with me to get a point of view from in the tree.
